Creating new habits for the new year!
Simple Acts Of Self-Care That Nurture Our Minds And Spirit
People used to say “ What’s new?” It’s a question that invites an authentic response a snapshot of someone’s current reality not their past or future anxieties. It’s an invitation to share what truly on their mind – A recent health concern, a joyful vacation or even just a happy moment it’s about what is going on in the present.
I’ve been thinking on this, especially since this is the beginning of a new year. So many new starts from self-care to mindfulness. Journaling for example, can be a powerful tool to open up creativity and release everything that is weighing us down. It allows us to process thoughts and feelings, unpack, lingering issues, and create space for clarity and creativity, instead of allowing our minds to wander into anxiety.
I find that incorporating small deliberate changes into my routine encourages a greater sense of well-being. Listening to a new podcast, exploring a new book or simply opening a window to appreciate the sounds of nature can all contribute to a renewed perspective. These are the simple acts of self-care that nurture our minds and spirits.
Creating new positive habits is vital. Let’s make taking care of ourselves our “new.” Let’s begin in the present and embrace the beauty of each moment of each day. We have 1,440 minutes in a day 1,440 opportunities to have a new positive thought to make better food choices or to smile more. Simply being in the moment, let that be our new!
Happy New Year and every moment in it!!!
